A legal administrative assistant works in a legal environment, such as a law firm, court house, or government office, providing assistance to a lawyer or judge.
A legal administrative assistant may spend his or her time preparing legal documents, dealing with accounting and finance matters, transcribing, corresponding with clients, or organizing and scheduling.
Due to the nature of the job site, a legal administrative assistant will work mainly inside an office. Dress will typically be business, and the work week will typically be 40 hours.
The US Department of Labor acknowledges that certain skills and knowledge, such as software applications, will be necessary for administrative assistants.
